Two different things at two very different prices, and the right answer depends on how unusual your business is.
A licensed product is software that already exists. It has been built, tested and run by other companies, so you are paying to use it rather than to invent it. You can be working in days, the cost is a fraction of a custom build, and the tradeoff is that the system reflects how the industry generally works rather than how your company specifically works.
A custom build is the opposite trade. It takes months and costs considerably more, and in return it does exactly what your business does, including the parts nobody else does. We build those too, through our web and software development service.
Our honest advice is to start with the licensed product if it covers most of what you need. Every company believes its process is unique, and most of the time the difference turns out to be a report format and a couple of field names, both of which we can adjust. If it genuinely does not fit after you have seen it, that is a far cheaper way to find out than commissioning a build first.
